‘Karsang’ is a word from the language of the Mising community. It means the light of the full moon night. Karsang Centre started in 2016 July with workshops on folk dance of Mising tribe. Since then research-oriented processes of dance, instruments started. Besides the work on Mising culture workshops are also held on dances of other tribes such as Bodo, Tea-tribes etc. Currently the ten Mising dances that we perform and teach are: Gumrag, Ligang, Seloya, Lourali, Kombang pol Sonam, Lota Sonam, Mibi Sumna.
